I got asked last week what my last meal was before I became a vegan.  Well it wasn’t exactly a meal…. but dessert.   I love macarons and this was from Le Macarons at St. Armands here in Sarasota.  I absolutely loved the walnut, vanilla, praline and chocolate.  It was so good.  I must have eaten a dozen all by myself.

So what about you if asked…. what would be your last meal?

Today I’m Grateful for:  fishing with fake baits with amir.  i love the breeze from the ocean.

I don’t really know when we started doing this or why.  But this is something new that Amir and I began doing just a few months ago.  If he brushes he teeth before I do…. he puts toothpaste on my toothbrush… or vise versa.  Back in June he left to go on a cruise without me.  I freaked out… we’d never been apart since we got married let alone be in separate countries.  When I came home to an empty home that Friday night I was so depressed and lonely.  That night as I was getting ready for bed I saw this in the bathroom… waiting for me.

I cried … ran… and got my camera to take a picture of this.

Today I’m Grateful for:  for the little things that help make my life complete!  I’m also  thankful for the time I spent catching up with my friend Vicki.  Sierra’s mom.  I miss them.

Well here’s a side of me you don’t see to often.

Serious….. with make up??  I barely recognize myself.

My friend Sierra is in town visiting from TN.  I had her all last weekend.  I had a blast!  On our last day together I took her shopping for a new outfit (our bday tradition…she picks out an outfit every year for her bday) and then I took her to Bare Essentuals to get a makeover.

We hung out at Starbucks after and I let Sierra play with my camera.  She is a natural!  She was drawn to the photojournalistic candid shots of unsuspecting families.  Stalker if you ask me….heheh.  But she took this picture of me.  I was going through my camera and saw this.  I tweeked it a bit… added some grain..blur and made it b/w.

I love how she took this… to me this is a side of me that only a select few get to see.  Deep in thought…not planning a single scheme…the next joke or smart ass remark.  This is just plain old me.  I guess the serious side of me.

Good job Sierra!  Thanks for seeing ….me.  Love yah!

Today I’m Grateful for:  Having wonderful friends who don’t ever allow me to feel like I’m alone in this world.

The best day of the week is finally here!  Happy Friday!!!  Lots of things to be grateful for . . .

1. Finally found my favorite flower…look up…peonies!
2. I get to see my lil sis from anotha motha….and fatha!  Sierra is here visiting from Tennessee.
3. I get to go to a crop tomorrow
4. I finally get a hair cut
5. I get to have lunch with two awesome friends… Jody & Nikki
6. Work load won’t be so bad today
7. It’s casual Friday
8. I look forward to spending Sunday with Amir
9. Bought Dear John & will watch it tonight!

Hello!!!

6 weeks worth of photography class goes by so fast.  I’ve learned so much from Maggie Holmes it’s amazing.  I popped in here to say Happy Valentines to you all and post some of my work.  Lately all I have been doing is practicing and doing my photography homework. Our last homework was to work on composition.  I had so much fun incorporating textures, patterns and COLOR into my work.

Would love to get your feedback on my pictures below…. good or bad i’d love to hear them.  I really do welcome constructive criticism… I know that’s how I learn.

Today I’m Grateful for: The card I received from Ashley N.  Thank you so much!!!!  Totally made my day!  Plus I’m going to CHA summer in Chicago… anyone planning to go?

Hey there!!!  How are you guys doing??  I’m doing good.  Just have been busy.  I’ve been enrolling myself in several classes and plus work…well its been hectic.  But good!!

So I’m on week 4 on my photography class with Maggie Holmes….and I love it.  I have learned so much and I’m not afraid to shoot in manual mode anymore.  I’ve been shooting in manual since I got my camera but had no clue what I was doing.  Now I’m slowly getting it.  She is amazing.  I highly suggest her class for beginners.  She really dumbs everything down…no technical words used.  Lots of reading though but its all worth it.

I haven’t crafted at all lately so I’m sharing some images I submitted to Maggie as part of my week 3 and 4 assignments on metering and lighting.  For the first time in my life I took a picture of Amir with sun flare (lens flare).  I’ve always loved this technique and so shocked that I was able to do it too.

I would love some comments especially form photographers out there.  How have you guys been???  talk to you soon
