congratulations tricia 11.9.09

Hello!!!  Happy Friday the 13th!!  Anybody out there dislike this day?  I guess i just treat this like any other day..maybe i like it more because its a Friday I dont know.  So I’m still here in Jacksonville.  But this is my last day here and we are heading out this afternoon to go back home to hot and humid Sarasota.  I’m crossing my fingers its cold there right now like it is up here.  I’m loving it so much.

Last night was fun…. got to hang out with everyone and we ate at a seafood place.  I forgot the name… but it was awesome.  I always like the last night out of town because its when everyone lets their hair down and just enjoy each others company.  Like I told my GM (who was wearing jeans…rather than his usually dress pants)…. he looked human.  Hahahahah!!  He got a good laugh out of that.  It’s also pretty cool how we all just talk normal….different from the usual corporate demeanor.  Anybody else out there work for Corporate America like I do?  Do you feel the same way??   I also love the bonding time I get to have with my team…face to face rather than over the phone.  We’re pretty lucky that our department gets to see each other at least twice a year.

Anywhoo…. ok about my card.  Tricia if you are reading this…. this is what you are going to get in the mail as soon as I get back.  Sorry it’s not a surprise anymore.  But I just had to share it.  Trust me it will be better in person.  On this card I used a hero arts background stamp and PTI’s new giga basics.  Finally i got to use a Christmas gift from Julie last year.  My Martha Stewart glitter.  I have the 30 pack.  i think it came out great and the image wasn’t compromised at all.  The glue pad is awesome!!!

A little background about Tricia.  She is a newly wed, a fellow blogger friend and a friend.  Love her to death.  We have so much in common.  Check out her blog HERE.  On my sidebar you can find her under Tricia Blanco.  She is an awesome cardmaker and scrapbooker too!!!

Talk to you all soon!!!  Have an awesome day!!

Hi! . . . thats its :)

Hi 11.9.09

Hi!  Greetings from Jacksonville, FL.  Great day today…. I’m with all of the Managers in my region and with the Geek Squad …my fellow research team.  Fun fun fun!!!  just got back from dinner.  We ate at a place called Wasabi… hibachi style food.  The chef squirted a bottle of ketchup on me… but it was fake.  Just weird brown cloth like stuff came out.  He got me good because I shrieked.  Haha!!

I’m a tad bit tired here.. it’s been a long but fun day.  So I’ll  get right to the point.  I used Nutmeg from Cosmo Cricket once again These are actually the same strips from my card yesterday.  I wanted to reuse the leftovers.  The “hi” was from one of the sheets with several journal cards on them.  I saw the hi and loved it so I cut it out and designed the card around it.

Ok that’s it from me today.  Hope everyone is doing good!!!

Hello Friend 11.9.09
Hello friends!!!  Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments about my flower felt tutorial and card.  I really appreciate it.  I can’t wait to make more….I still have quite a few up my sleeve.  Well its really in my head…I just have to sit down and make it.  Then film it etc etc.

Don’t you just love the new Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg??  I’m in love.  The colors and the critter images are just so cute.  They all remind me of my rabbit.  So this card was really easy to make.  I didn’t know what paper to use, so I used them all.  I cut random shapes from each paper and then just adhered them down on the soft suede SU card stock.  The critter chipboard is from the Cosmo Cricket nutmeg too and the sentiment is from Hero arts.

Hope you like it!!!  BTW I’ll be in Jacksonville, FL from Wed to Friday….any bloggers from Jacksonville?

Embellish Simply Amazing2 11.4.09

Hello there!!!!  This is my entry for Embellish Magazine’s challenge.  Oh how I love it.  This is by far my favorite (I think I say that every week).  But this really is.  I just love owls.  I have no clue how or when it started.  Well I take that back it started last year when I purchased my very first owl stamp from hero arts.  I have a ton now.  I just gravitate towards them.  Such cute little suckers!!!

On to the card…. I used a die cut I purchased earlier this year from twopeas.  Its a polaroid shape from quickutz.  I die I love this shape.  The stamp is from Unity KOTM the sentiment is by Ali Edwards.  I cut out the heart shaped eyes using felt and used embroidery floss to stitch around.  I wanted the eye to pop!!  Also the brown floss on the left was inspired by Sarah Martina.  Check out her card HERE.  Genius!!  Had to try it myself!!

Card Sets 10.25.09

Hey I’m back!!!  I love Charleston!!  Ever been?  I could move there in a heartbeat.  The city is just so beautiful and I love the History behind it. I love the plantation style homes, shutters, brick streets, shrimp and grits, she crab soup, young people everywhere……Oh and the FOOD!!!  Let me tell yah i had the best macaroni and cheese at CRU.  Everything on their menu was reasonably priced.  Check them out HERE.  Please please go there if you ever visit the city.  It’s so worth it.  Ask for the chefs table!!!  Anywhoo…..I was there mostly for work and I stayed with a co-worker/awesome friend Alessandra.  I got to see my good friend Bridget too and an old co-worker Carol.  I miss you guys already.

BTW I met a girl at Taco Boy a local restaurant and bar there…who’s moving to Sarasota in a month or two.  Random!!!!  I look forward to her moving here.  Yes more youngins are needed in my hood.

I made these cards for Bridget and Allie.  I can’t take any credit for the design of this card because I lifted it from Nichole Heady.  My apologies…. I have no clue when she posted it.  I wanted to make a set of cards to bring with me that wasnt too overly complicated.  It wasn’t at all.  I love the vintage cream ink …. the image came out so crisp.

I still lack sleep…. so Chokr . . . OUT!!!!  Talk to you guys soon :)

Embellish2 Absolutely Fabulous2 10.25.09
Hello!!  I finally got to do some crafting yesterday.  I had a list of things I wanted to do and so far I got 50% of them done.  So this is my entry for the “Embellish the Cure” Challenge.  I absolutely loved this challenge.  I love the colors, the bling…it was just so fabulous!!

So lately I’ve been addicted to making my own embellishments.  For this one I used the Sizzix circle die cut to cut out the felt circles.  But it need some dimensions.  So I cut a slit on the circle and curled it over till it had a slight cone shape to it. Then I just added some rhinestone “bling” on the center.  I also finally got to  use my new Giga Guidelines stamp and embossed on the pink pirouette cardstock.  I found this to be slightly difficult . . .I couldn’t really see the image that good because I was using versa mark.  I wish it came with a giga grid too.  Nonetheless I still love how huge they are.

Lots of pictures below….gotta go for now and get some stuff done today.  I still have 2 more challenges to work.  Hope you guys are having a good weekend so far.
